Cultures H. Dolbec

Customer :  Cultures H. Dolbec Inc.

Location:  St-Ubalde, Qc

Project:  Moisture-controlled warehouse using state-of-the-art technology that is fully automated for potato conservation

Building dimensions: 50 m x 92 m x 9,6 m  (Surface of near 56 000 sq.ft)

Honco mandate:  Design-build of the building envelope including wall and roof insulation, interior partition wall, and the doors.

Our customer needed a building that offered a spacious interior and a high energy efficient building envelope to reduce the operation costs. Honco construction system was chosen since it can offer both of these advantages in addition to a structural ceiling which would allow to reduce the inside volume of air to be controlled.  Somme structural components such as the prepainted finish structural ceiling and galvanized finish door frames, as well as the use of stainless steel bolts were integrated for their resistance to humidity.  Moreover, the building structure was designed to support the ventilation system suspended to the structural ceiling.  The warehouse was constructed over a period of 5 months.

In 2020, our client called on our expertise again! An expansion that allowed the company to store more potatoes 🥔 Going from 56,000 sq ft to over 100,832 sq ft!
