Centre sportif et culturel de Manawan

This sports complex was built to meet the needs of the community on a recreational and community level. The arena includes an ice skating rink with an ammonia refrigeration system that can be in operation for a period of 8 months per year. The ice skating facility has a seating capacity of 400 people. A two-storey service area located in one of the extremity of the building includes the players and referees rooms, washrooms, snack bar area, storage and mechanical rooms on the first floor. On the second floor, there is a large community hall.

Honco was mandated for the construction of the arena as a general contractor on a turnkey basis following a call for tenders. Honco has found solutions tailored to customer needs within the planned budget. The community also wanted to participate in the project by performing some of the work themselves, under the supervision of Honco and the qualified professional involved, such as the site preparation and the interior finish of the community hall and washroom on the second floor. The construction has been done over a timeframe of 7 months.
